for everyone

Family holidays come but once a year, well in the summer anyway, and this year was no exception. Fri 24th we set off for the French Alps with new bike and others, excellent trip to dover and also on through Belgium and into Luxembourg for the 1st night(bonus they speak German here)

Next day and I wasn't feeling tiptop but onward to Samoens and our destination, we were a bit late and had to call ahead so we could get onto site. we set up and a couple of glasses of wine and off to bed.

Next morning and I felt a bit worse but decided we should all go and explore and then I could sus the area out a bit, looked quite promising and was looking forward to getting out on my own tomorrow! That afternoon we walked into Samoens I felt like I had done too much! Oh dear D2D might be more than I can handle!

Next morning and the illness kicked in good and proper, I was aching and with a sore throat and full of phlegm I felt hideous, BUT I took some Flue tabs and I improved enough for me to go out for a quick ride out

Up to a water fall and a good climb past it too

Just see the water in the background

This ended up being my last proper ride until the day before our return, I was just too ill I just laid on the bed or deck chair. Boo Hoo!!

Finally on the penultimate day I rode up 7 miles continuously to reach the top of Samoens 1600 and then rode cross country to Morillon which is where the down hill bit is, It was extremely wet and slippy and I was knacked, the previous weeks poorly time had taken its toll!!!

The down hill bit was good albeit tough going and rooty and wet and steep, but its what I wanted. Morzine is just over the other side of the mountain from where we stayed so look forward to the next visit, come on lads lets sort it!

That's about it in France, but disaster continues, we missed the boat at Dunkerque at 8pm Sunday and told the next was 6 am monday, Bugger, too too many stops as I was too tired!! and then on to Calais and an extra £120 to get home for 0230am and in bed for 0330am, only tomorrow night to look forward too and hacking up more phlegm, mmmmmmm

Won't be a PB for me on Wednesday night.

1) Currently have a stinking cold
2) New tub I ordered hasn't shown up yet
3) If it does turn up in time, I still haven't got a clue what to do with it
