and it took me 2.5 hours to get there from work, most of that time I had a customer moaning at me on the phone as well....sometimes I wonder why I bother.

But still enjoyed the race anyway, but it has put me off singlespeed's for life now.....

Well finally managed to get time to sort out getting the Garmin repaired, and they will replace it with a new/refurbed unit for £87.25. It is in the post today, so they reckon I will have it back within a week

Not sure who finally bought Jacks old 305, but if the battery is giving up the ghost you just need to phone Garmin and pay them for an RMA and they will send you out a refurbed unit

Paul,

I had Jacks old 305. Battery life isn't too bad - I've seen 4.5 hours so far. If it starts being a problem, I'll get it changed.

Well my Garmin is back - for my £87.25 Garmin very kindly sent me a brand new 705 including all the accessories and the optional cadence unit as well, so I now have a spare HR strap, a second speed/cadence sensor and some more spare mounts - Guess I'll need to buy another bike for the spare mount then :-)

Cant see the point in the speed sensor, never missed it myself.
